GeoGraphix is Windows based software developed by a company of same name. It was bought by Landmark/Halliburton afterwards. It was a good product raised for most user friendly OS i.e. Microsoft Windows and could become a popular product in E&P industry. Landmark did not put much effort in its marketing and in the mean time Halliburton developed similar solution on same OS named Petrel.
Now Petrel is capturing the industry and many companies like OMV and Aramco have started using Petrel.

GeoGraphix uses the ESRI Objects for GIS component of it. It maintain a project folder and keep creating and updating shapefiles in it. And the GIS users can copy and load those files into their ArcView Projects but this will not port the thematic applied in GeoGraphix. GeoGraphix allows user to add spatial data from various data sources including ArcSDE.
